Targeted Learning Outcomes (ILOs)
Upon successful completion of the requirements for the Technical Diploma in the Department of Electronic Technologies, the student will be able to demonstrate the following competencies and outputs:
First: Knowledge & Understanding
Explain the basic laws and theories of electrical, electronics, and communication engineering.
Distinguish different electronic components (analog and digital) and understand their mechanism and functions within complex circuits.
Describe the architecture of microcomputers, processors, and programmable logic control systems ($$PLC).
Identify the approved occupational and environmental safety standards while dealing with electronic and electrical devices and systems.
Second: Intellectual Skills
Analyze electronic and electrical circuit diagrams and read catalogs (technical diagrams) of different devices.
2. Diagnosing technical faults in electronic systems and automatic control and choosing the optimal method to fix them.
Propose technical modifications or replacements for damaged electronic components to ensure continued efficiency of the device or production line.
Design simple electronic circuits or embedded systems to address specific application problems.
Third: Practical & Professional Skills
Use laboratory and field measurement, examination and analysis devices (e.g. oscilloscopes, multimeters) with high efficiency.
Carrying out preventive, periodic and corrective maintenance operations for electronic, medical, computer, and industrial systems.
Programming and setting up microcontrollers ($$Microcontrollers), industrial automation systems ($$PLC), and IoT applications ($$IoT).
Assemble and connect printed electronic boards ($$PCBs) and master welding skills and secure electrical networking.
Fourth: General & Transferable Skills
Effective communication (verbal and written) and periodic technical reports on the performance of systems and devices.
Work efficiently and harmoniously within the two multidisciplinary teamwork teams (engineers and technicians).
Time management and organization of maintenance and production tasks in various industrial work environments.
Possess continuous self-learning skills to keep pace with the rapid technological leaps in the digital labor market.
