Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance
Psychological Counseling and
Educational Guidance is a fundamental pillar in the Prosthetics Technology
Department. The department believes that academic success and technical
excellence can only be achieved through a balanced and healthy psychological environment.
This unit aims to support and guide students in overcoming social,
psychological, and academic obstacles they may face during their university
life.
Objectives
of Psychological Counseling in the Department
1. University
Adaptation: Helping new students quickly adapt to the
academic environment and the technical education system, and facilitating a
smooth transition from the preparatory/vocational stage to institute life.
2. Psychological
and Social Support: Providing advice and support to students going
through personal circumstances or psychological pressures that affect their
performance, ensuring complete confidentiality.
3.
Self-Development and Character Building: Developing
students’ skills in time management, dealing with exam anxiety, and enhancing
self-confidence and social responsibility.
4. Prevention and
Awareness: Promoting a culture of dialogue, tolerance, and
avoidance of negative behaviors, and strengthening students intellectually and
behaviorally through seminars and educational workshops.
Areas of Work of the Educational Counselor in
the Department
• Academic
Counseling: Following up with academically struggling
students, identifying the causes of their declining performance, and developing
remedial plans in coordination with instructors to help them succeed.
• Individual
Psychological Counseling: Receiving students privately
at the counseling office to listen to their personal problems (psychological or
family-related) and helping them find balanced solutions within a framework of
absolute privacy.
• Group
Counseling: Organizing periodic dialogue sessions with
students across all levels to discuss general issues, and promoting teamwork
and cooperation within classrooms and laboratories.
• Care for Gifted
and Outstanding Students: Discovering the creative
talents of students (whether academic, cultural, or artistic) and supporting
them in developing and showcasing these talents in institute and university
activities.

Important
Notice for Students: All consultations and interviews conducted with
the Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Committee in the
department are treated with complete and absolute confidentiality, and
are not included in the student’s academic record. The primary and fundamental
goal is your well-being and psychological safety.
