The Department of Medical Laboratory Technology was established in 1994. It accepts male and female graduates of secondary school (both scientific and biological branches) and aims to prepare qualified medical technicians. Students receive on-the-job training in hospitals. The department is one of the scientific departments at the Al-Dur Technical Institute, located in Al-Dur District, Salah al-Din Governorate. It attracts many students from within the governorate as well as from other governorates. The department adopts teaching and learning strategies that emphasize scientific research. The Department of Medical Laboratory Technology strives for excellence in education and research, meeting the needs of society and staying abreast of the latest scientific and technological advancements, applying them in a way that enhances the quality of learning in all fields.
