Department of Pharmacy Technologies

The Pharmacy Department is one of the departments at the Medical Technical Institute in Al-Dour and is currently the most desired with the highest enrollment percentage compared to other departments. Graduates can work exclusively in the pharmacies of the Ministry of Health and its affiliated health centers. They are not permitted to work independently without a department. Their duties include dispensing medications to both inpatients and outpatients. They can also guide patients regarding the correct use of medication and its administration methods according to the prescription, in addition to raising awareness about the risks that can arise from drug misuse. Furthermore, they prepare various medications under the supervision of the pharmacist, which requires knowing, distinguishing, and converting the weights and volumes involved in the medical prescription, as well as knowing all the ingredients included. Their responsibilities also encompass storing medications, which includes applying good and appropriate sanitary conditions to preserve all types of chemicals and medicines, and cautioning against the loss of efficacy stated on medication packaging. Finally, they must be familiar with operating and maintaining the equipment and tools used in the pharmacy.
